Not so Great British Weather

Beaches

The Island has got some brilliant beaches one of which is right on the doorstep at Whitecliff Bay!  If you fancy a change of scenery we love Sandown, Shanklin and Totland.

Attractions

A must do is Blackgang Chine, everybody who is anybody has been there!  For great views get over to The Needles, it's breathtaking.  Totland Bay is great for families - famous for multi-coloured sand, glass blowing and 'that chair-lift'.

Towns & Villages

You've got to do Bembridge and the harbour.  Go to the local deli and have a coffee quiche - you won't be disappointed. Cowes is fab for shopping but is brilliant for a spot of lunch near the marina. Old town Shanklin is perfect for a short stroll and a real ale or two in The Crab.
Ventnor is a step into classic Victorian coastal holidays.  Great setting.

Walking and Cycling

With over 700 miles of cycle and footpaths you will be spoilt for choice on the Island.  We have got some great routes for all ages and abilities.

Family

Head for Ryde Ice Rink & 10 Pin Bowling if you want to keep the kids entertained for a while.  Afterwards explore Ryde and it's many shops and eateries on Union Street.  Butterfly World will keep them all smiling and Amazon World is set to amaze them too!  Not far from the park is The Brading Experience where there is plenty going on.

Shopping

The many alleys and lanes around Cowes are great fun with all manner of nautical stuff.  Try Oasis which is just around the corner, it's filled with the weird and wonderful from around the world.  Bembridge has got plent of quaint little shops too!

Culture

Osborne House is the former holiday home of Queen Victoria and is brilliant.  Try the Roman Villa at Brading, a 1,700 year old holiday pad! Bembridge Windmill is the last remaining windmill on the Isle of Wight and offers great views.

Something a bit different

Why not try the Havenstreet Steam Railway for a real blast from the past.  Maybe the Isle of Wight Bus Museum is more to your liking? Of course a particular favourite is 'Dinosaur Isle' a budding paleontologists dream.
