FAQ's
You will have many questions which will answer for you when you visit, you may even have questions that you didn't know you had before you arrived! Below are some of the typical questions we get asked...
When can I use my caravan?
Between March 1st and November 30th each year. You may find parks with longer periods but in all honesty very few people actually use their holiday home outside of these dates and it does increase the annual pitch fees. We find this time period a good balance between cost and use.
Can I choose the location of my caravan?
Yes, you can have a choice of available pitches on the Park. There are, however, one or two areas that are a little more costly and these will be explained to you as you tour the Park.
Can I live in my caravan?
No. If you were to live permanently in your holiday home, this would be in breach of our site licence with serious legal consequences. In addition, a caravan holiday home is not designed to be a permanent residence.
Do I have to remove my caravan once it gets to a certain age?
Absolutely not. You are welcome to keep your caravan on the Park indefinitely, provided that you maintain the caravan in good condition, keep to the Park Rules and ensure your account is fully paid and up to date. You will notice a wide variety of caravans of all ages on our park and from all manufacturers.
How much would I get if I sold my caravan after a year?
If you are seriously thinking of owning a caravan for short period of time, we advise you not to go ahead with the purchase. This is because the purchase of a caravan is just like the purchase of a car; they do depreciate and the first year is the worst. After that, it really depends on the state of the economy and how well you maintain your caravan. Holiday home ownership is not intended to be a short-term purchase.
Can you help me get finance?
Yes. Because the companies we work with specialise in providing finance for holiday homes, they have tailored their plans specifically to your needs. There is no need to attend a personal interview or to complete complicated proposal forms. In fact, your Sales Advisor will complete all of the documentation with you. Also, unlike a High Street Bank, who may require the loan to be secured on your home, specialised providers only take security on your holiday home.
How quickly can I move in after I have purchased?
We know that you will want to be in your new holiday home that same day, so rest assured we will do our best to get you in as quickly as possible. If the caravan is on the park and you have paid in full, the longest wait will be 14 days but generally it’s quicker. If the caravan is new from the manufacturer, we can only prepare your new holiday home once it arrives. But we will keep you updated along the way.
Will my caravan be covered by a Warranty?
All caravan holiday homes purchased from us are covered by a comprehensive 12 month warranty. The cover differs slightly between new and used models.
Do I have to pay extra to use the facilities on the park?
Well apart from those pesky one armed bandits and pool tables which you have to pay for when you use them, the other facilities are available to you and are included in your pitch fees.
I live on the mainland, is the ferry expensive?
If you travel at the very peak times they can be, but that’s true of all types of travel. By and large there is always a deal to be found. We offer subsidised ferry tickets for our holiday home owners and they are excellent value. You can also buy multi-trip books which are good value too.
How often do the ferries run and where do they sail to & from?
Crossings generally run at least once but most often twice per hour from early morning through to late at night. The sailings are from the ports of Lymington to Yarmouth, Southampton to Cowes and Portsmouth to Fishbourne.
